Our Commitment to Student Well-being

At Waiuku Primary School, we prioritize the well-being of our students, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and empowered to thrive. We recognize that emotional and mental well-being are just as important as academic success, and we have built a strong culture of mindfulness, resilience, and care.

Mindfulness at Waiuku Primary

We are proud to be a Pause, Breathe, Smile school, incorporating daily mindfulness practices into our routines. These simple yet powerful exercises help students build focus, manage emotions, and develop a positive mindset. By practicing mindfulness every day, our students learn to navigate challenges with confidence and kindness.

The Hauora Room – A Space for Well-being

Our Hauora Room is a dedicated space where students can take a moment to reset, reflect, and recharge. Whether they need a quiet place to gather their thoughts, self-regulate, or seek additional support, the Hauora Room provides a calm, welcoming environment for all.

On-Site Counseling Support

To ensure our students have access to professional care when needed, we have a qualified counselor, Ursula, available on-site.

She provides a safe and confidential space for students to talk, express their feelings, and receive guidance tailored to their well-being needs.

At Waiuku Primary School, we go beyond academics—we nurture the whole child. Our commitment to well-being is woven into everything we do, creating a school environment where students feel valued, confident, and ready to succeed.
