Waiuku Primary School offers a broad curriculum delivered by well-qualified and multicultural
staff. Year 0 – 6 students learn all subjects in their assigned classroom. Year 7 & 8 students
are considered Intermediate students and study subjects by moving to Intermediate level
classrooms independently to attend their subjects.

English Language Support
International students are offered general and subject-specific language learning through the
ESOL department. Regular daily ESOL classes can form part of the International Students
Programme if desired or total immersion in classrooms is offered.

School Terms and Holidays
The academic year runs from early February to mid December with 4 terms, each of about
10 weeks. There is a 2 week holiday at the end of each Terms 1, 2 and 3. The summer
holiday is from mid December to late January. Students are accepted at the beginning of
terms 1, 2 or 3.

Requirements of Study
An ability to study in English, at the level applied for, is required. ESOL class support is
offered in our school.
