Hub 4 Technology

Year Seven and Eight students have an extended curriculum that includes Technology learning. Waiuku Primary is one of nine local schools that enjoys this extension learning in the purpose-built Technology classrooms, at View Road School.

The Technology classes are;

Hard Materials: Learning to measure and cut wood, use machinery and produce an item.

Art Technology: Learning different Art methods – visual and 3D. Once every two years there is a gallery of students work displayed in the View Road School Hall that is open to all the community.

Foods and Textiles: For two terms, students will learn the skills in sewing and for two terms the students learn the skills in cooking.

Our expectations of our school is extended to View Road during these visits. View Road is a PB4L school and we will be utilising our own PB4L programme for the time our students are there.

Your child will be visiting undertaking Technology learning once every fortnight. It is important that every student wears closed in shoes for safety reasons during their Technology learning.
